AI biases occur for several of reasons:
- Using training data sets with unreliable or unrepresentative data
- Decisions that engineers make during the training process, like giving more importance to some factors over others
- Choices we make about how and where we use AI, like deciding to use an AI application in a context it wasn’t explicitly designed for
